A Vision for the future
Since its founding in 2002, the Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership has worked to build a solid foundation of healthcare leadership for Maine’s future.
Our Mission
To catalyze a sustainable culture of collaboration, innovation, and values-driven leadership across the broad health community in Maine and beyond.
Our Vision
The Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership will help to improve the experience, outcomes and efficiency of the health system in Maine, so the state will be a better place to give and receive care and people will be healthier.
Our Values
The Center’s values are based on the principles that characterized Dr. Dan Hanley’s career as one of Maine’s most respected and effective leaders:

Daniel Hanley
The Center is named for Dr. Dan Hanley (1916-2001), a highly respected physician leader who earned an international reputation for his courage, innovation, collaboration, compassion and hard work.
Maine's fifth annual statewide Health Leadership Development (HLD) class gathered in September to begin their 8-month course in collaborative leadership. For more information, visit www.healthleadershipmaine.org
The Hanley Center is pleased to welcome noted author and NPR commentator T.R. Reid back to Maine for a week-long series of presentations across the state. Reid keynoted the Hanley Honors dinner in late 2010 and is being brought back to Maine to support the Get Better Maine campaign. The Hanley Center is planning his speaking series in partnership with the Maine Health Management Coalition Foundation, with financial support from the Maine Health Access Foundation. Other sponsoring organizations include: Quality Counts, the Maine Development Foundation, the Maine Osteopathic Association, the Maine Medical Association, AARP and The Maine Quality Forum.
Visit www.mhmc.info/tr-reids-speaking-schedule-maine for information about Reid's presentations and contact information to register for any of these events.
